[New guide to intestinal health]

The Nutrition and Obesity group of the UPV/EHU has addressed issues such as digestive problems, nutrition, microbiota, etc. in this new publication.


UPV/EHU Publications Service Intestinal Health. He has published a new guide on digestive disorders, nutrition and microbiota. It deals with various diseases and disorders that can affect the intestine, such as inflammatory bowel disease, painful bowel syndrome, or celiac disease. All of them, however, are not pathologies in themselves, but signs associated with many diseases.

In all these disorders, food plays a fundamental role, not only as an aid to treatment, but also as a tool for prevention and improvement of the quality of life. Thus, diets adapted to each situation can help control symptomatology and ensure health.

On the other hand, the authors wanted to make it clear that the intestine plays a fundamental role in maintaining our health. An imbalance in the composition and function of the gut microbiota is related to numerous alterations, both at the digestive and systemic levels, and tries to give it the importance of the book.
