Gene therapy is apparently appropriate and safe to treat Parkison's disease. At the moment they have only tried it with 12 people, but after a year since they were treated, the results are very good, since they have not had any side effects.

Treatment uses a harmless virus to introduce a gene. This gene encodes a series of chemicals that inhibit overactive cells in the brain. Thus, Parkinson's symptoms slow down.
