Ed. James Watson. Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory

James Watson received the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology in 1962, along with Francis Crick, for clarifying the structure of DNA. Although this research made him famous, he has also appeared in the media for his thought, because he believes in the superiority of the white race and has expressed his genetic basis.

In 2007, when he said them, he forced to reject what was said by the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, which for 43 years had its work center. Then Watson resigned.

However, it seems that it has not changed mentality, as it has recently kept the same idea in a documentary. In response, the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory has decided to remove all Watson honorary appointments. His statement recognizes Watson's scientific contribution, but details: “the statements made in the documentary are totally incompatible with our objectives, values and criteria”.
