In a short time 3D printers have achieved great success. However, despite their undeniable advantages, they also have limitations, especially time. Production is relatively slow. To overcome this limit, researchers from the University of Silicon Valley and North Carolina have developed a 3D printer based on liquid interface.

His research has been published in the journal Science. It is explained that with its method it is possible to produce in minutes without waiting for hours. They clarify that the key to this is the “dead field”. This oxygen zone is located between the original liquid material and the solid part that is being printed, where the material cannot be solidified and at the same time feeds the solidification point without interruption. In this way, the object is constantly formed.

According to the article, this technology can be used for printing materials as varied as elastic, ceramic and biological materials, such as fabrics.
