As indicated in the previous number, the ideal food for the first months of the baby is breast milk or breast milk of characteristics similar to breast milk. However, although milk is sufficient to cover the child's food needs during the first three or four months of life, it is recommended to start introducing more food from the fourth month to cover the child's new energy and nutrition needs.

This process of introducing new foods should be done slowly as the child's digestive system is adapting and always adapted to each child. In the first year the child goes from feeding on pure milk to consuming most of the foods an adult eats, from feeding on pure milk to being omnivorous.

Appointments are the first foods that are introduced in milk. These rations are marketed in the form of flour and exist in the market two types: those containing gluten (wheat, oats, barley and rye) and those that do not contain gluten (rice, corn, soy and tapioca). The vegetables can be taken from the sixth month, being the most suitable at first the mashed potatoes and carrots. Since the rest of vegetables contain a lot of fiber, it is recommended not to give the child until the ninth month, since your digestive system is not prepared to assimilate fiber. Leeks, spinach, and beet are not suitable until the child reaches the year.

The mashed vegetables can be enriched with meat from the 6th month. Just 10/15 g of meat a day and always choose meats with little fat. As for the way to prepare, it must be said that cooking is the most appropriate.

Fish can be taken from nine to ten months and at first you can always take white fish, with the least amount of fat. The last food to be introduced is the egg: although the yolk can enter from the ninth month, the whole egg should not be given to the child before the eleventh month because it can cause allergies and incompatibilities.

Milk should provide the child with 50% and 50% of the energy needed, fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, etc. They must offer him. Finally, it should be mentioned that new foods should be slowly introduced into the child's diet as they become familiar with new flavors and textures.
