Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka
This year’s Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka has lasted four days, from May 6 to 9, and has been held in the Arenal of Bilbao. In total, 183 projects have been exhibited and 660 young people from 60 schools have participated. In addition to young people from educational centers in the Basque Country, we have also received awards at national and international fairs: 9 teams have arrived.
Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka aims to offer young people scientific experiences and promote and disseminate scientific culture, not only in this fair that is held in Areatza, but throughout the year. In addition to young students, research centers and universities from the Basque Country participate in the Fair. It is also worth noting the commitment that all of them show each year with this project: at the beginning of the course, 80 researchers from universities and technology centers, including 48 women, signed up to work with the students and the same number of people who have been working as evaluators on the days of the fair.
The Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka initiative, organized by Elhuyar, is supported by the Department of Science, Universities and Innovation of the Basque Government, the FECYT (Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology), the Bilbao City Council, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, the Government of Navarra and Erabi.
