Mochuelo in decline

Jabi Zabala Albizua, a zoologist at the UPV, explains that the mochuelo is in the process of extinction in Bizkaia. This has been clearly demonstrated by the research carried out in recent years. Zoologists believe that the main cause of extinction is the fragmentation of its habitat, but the situation is complex. We have looked at the state of the owls in the Basque Country and how they are in other parts of Europe.
