What is black matter?

2000/03/15 Elhuyar Zientzia

Black matter is a concept associated with the creation of the universe.

After the explosion known as the Big Bang, the universe expanded very quickly. For its expansion, it needed much material, much more than what we see today in the universe.

According to this theory, therefore, there is matter that we do not see in the universe. And that is precisely the black matter: the matter that exists in the universe but is not seen. Some phenomena that occur in galaxies could not be explained if no black matter was considered.

According to physicists, this black material is composed of mass neutrinos, brown dwarfs, or in other words weak stars, black holes and particles that do not emit electromagnetic radiation.
