Iraurgi Berrikuntza, the Urola Erdia Development and Innovation Agency, and the Elhuyar Foundation have launched a series of pilot actions to promote scientific and technological capacities in the region. The activities carried out in recent weeks have been addressed to students of Compulsory Secondary Education. In addition to offering training to teachers on the methodological basis for the teaching of science and technology, several pilot workshops have been organized with students. The first result of the actions developed is the fair “Bizilabe” held on 31 March in the square of Azkoitia. In it, young people from all schools in the region have shown their prototypes of microbiology, electronics and prototyping. In addition, experiments have been carried out in the field of polymers or nanotechnology.

More than a hundred young people from Floreaga, Ikasberri, Iraurgi, Urola and Xabier Munibe presented in the central square of Azkoitia the advanced scientific-technological prototypes developed in the workshops offered. These prototypes have been created thanks to the group work carried out in five workshops, with the aim of improving the training and training of students of Compulsory Secondary Education in the region.

What was seen at the fair is the result of the different initiatives developed in recent weeks. The initiative has been led by Iraurgi Berritzen, with the technical leadership of Elhuyar. The project has an experimental nature and is expected that the municipalities of the region and the development and innovation agency continue to develop this line of work in the next courses.
