Researchers from the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences have discovered the fossil of a mature pterosaurus and an egg in the Chinese province of Liaoning. They conclude that they are fossils of a pterosaurus of the species Darwinopterus, about 160 million years old.

Analyzing the characteristics of the egg, it is observed that the reproduction strategies of the Pterosaurs are very similar to those of reptiles, and not to the strategies of reproduction of birds, as many experts believed so far. It is a small, soft egg. Researchers believe that, in general, Darwinopterus females buried these eggs — like reptiles — and, unlike birds, they did not pay too much attention to them.
