The University of Michigan discovers a new remedy to curb prostate cancer. So far they have only experimented with laboratory rats, but the results obtained are satisfactory. Pectin is the gelling substance that slows or curbs cell reproduction that causes prostate cancer.

It is used in food and medicine and is found in vegetables and fruits, especially in orange and apple bark. The new substance that is mixed with alkaline pectins and acids is soluble. The new substance provoked surprising reactions in rats with prostate cancer. 40% caused cell proliferation to halve and in the rest completely paralyzed.

Researchers have explained their intention and desire to test the new substance with humans. According to data published by the U.S. Department of Health, prostate cancer is constantly expanding, with 240,000 new cases annually and today without treatment.
