Peary and North Pole

1990/03/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria

In issue 21 of this magazine Robert E. We talked about the explorer Peary not being the first man to reach the North Pole. Not to the North Pole, only to the nearby. New data reveal that Dr. Frederick Cook was the first man to do this feat.

As one might think, the cauldron did not stop (the truth is that it had been coming for a long time) and new studies have been carried out. A new study commissioned by the prestigious American association National Geographic has just shown that Peary reached the north pole.

Given who caused the study, the debate could become quite decisive.
