Origin of letters

2000/03/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria

The first alphabet in history was invented in Egypt. In 1800 and not, as previously thought, in the Sinai desert. Year 1600. Researchers at Yale University have discovered the prints found in the Wadi el-Hole archaeological site near the La Real Valley, and found the sketches of the pioneers of our current lyrics.

The engravings are made in a dialect near the academy, the oldest Semitic language spoken in Mesopotamia, and the characters come from a hieroglyphic writing very common in the time of the Egyptian Middle Empire.

The alphabet was invented by Asian merchants and military who, being very difficult to learn hieroglyphic writing, needed a simpler communication tool. Thus, characters with phonetic values were invented in the languages of the etarras based on hieroglyphic writing.
