In these times of modern agriculture, traditional agriculture is often seen as outdated and ineffective. However, a group of researchers at the Oregon State University and China have managed to get hundreds of Filipino farmers to sow mixed rice varieties for two years, with a spectacular result: 94% less mushroom plants and 89% more harvesting than monovarietary crops. The production of mass varieties cannot solve all the problems or get harvests equal year after year, but the researchers consider that it is a technique to take into account in view of the results.
