The U.S. Genome Research Institute, along with Stanford University, aims to decode the genomes of all microorganisms living in the human body. In the first phase, people living in the intestine, mouth, and vagina will be analyzed in each of the five hundred cavities, and then passed to the ears, nose, and stomach.
According to the researchers, although these microorganisms are very important for humans, they do not have much information about them, among other things because many do not grow in the laboratory. Now, thanks to DNA sequencing machines, they will move directly from cavities to machines.
