Very small turbine generators or alternators will someday replace the batteries and batteries of computers, flashlights, handsets, etc.

The engine will have the size of the shirt button.

The U.S. Army has assigned the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) a budget of six million dollars to prepare this small miniature engine.

According to engineer Stephen Senturia, professor at MIT, it would have the size of the shirt button. Basically it would have compressor, cooking chamber and turbine similar to the turboreactor of the plane. In addition, the prototype would consume hydrogen and could have a range of up to a week.
