Early alarm on the Basque coast

The tide gauge of the Azti research centre in Pasaia has been recording the rise in sea level since 2007, which means an average increase of 4.37 millimetres per year, a trend that is expected to increase by 25 centimetres by 2050. After analyzing the agitation of the port of Pasaia, an early alarm system has been developed in collaboration with the City Council of Pasaia. And with the information of the sensors installed on the beach of Zarautz, mathematical models have been developed to predict the tides.
