Various technologies developed in the military program SDI or "The War of Galaxies" have served for medical applications such as the infrared laser that will be used henceforth for eye surgery. The laser will allow to treat the back of the eye without damaging the optic nerve. Some neurological diseases cause the accumulation of fluid in the optical nerves, being able to suffer blurred vision, headaches and loss of vision. In these cases the surgery is essential and given the complexity of the operation, the precision of the laser will be very useful.
