The physicists at the University of Illinois have developed an acoustic lens from artificial metamateris that has served to focus ultrasonic waves toward a small point. They say that by adapting your instrument you can get a very high resolution ultrasonic imagination for use in medicine and non-destructive material testing. The group has stated that you can also make an acoustic layer that would be used to hide sound objects.
