Theories about black holes argue that particle jets and energy from black holes must be spiral-shaped. An international group of astronomers has studied a black hole in the galaxy BL Lacertae, located 950 million light years from Earth, and have discovered that a few photon jets have emerged as the theories announce. Scientists think that matter and energy in the form of a spiral come out in black holes because the magnetic fields are twisted.
