In the image you can see the Sakurajima volcano, located on the island of Kyushu, in southern Japan.

The last eruption of the Sakurajima volcano took place on October 7, 2000, generating a column of ashes of almost five kilometers. It covered the nearby town of Kagoshima with a layer of ash of several centimeters. The eruption of the 1,120 metre high Sakurajima volcano has had to get used to the discomfort of its changing character in the past decade.
