Bull contamination by branches

1995/10/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria

Seeing the sun in Mexico City is not easy. Dense clouds cover the sky and since morning the environment is unsustainable. Smog is responsible, that is, the pollution sets that extend all corners. When the situation becomes uncontrollable, urban traffic and industrial activity are limited.

So far, that has only gotten a break for a few days and just as the ban rises the black clouds reappear. A group of Californian chemists believe that these measures have not properly addressed the problem, as they cause greater harm than traffic and industry, oil gas used in domestic consumption. If not limited, you will not see the sun in Mexico City.

After the analysis of the air samples in the area, the main component of smog was analyzed. While it has been confirmed that the mixture of hydrocarbons and atmospheric gases is the main source of ozone, it has been observed that LPG oil gas produces ozone in large quantities.

Considering that throughout Mexico LPG is used as a substitute for electricity, it is concluded that it is more harmful than hydrocarbon. The only solution would be to reduce oil gas consumption and enable an energy source that can replace its use. In the opinion of these chemists, in Mexico we will have to work on this road to get to the beef by the branches.
