Polyethylene doped
1985/12/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria
The doped polyethylene has the highest electrical conductivity between polymers. It has a small problem, it can not be processed by the way it is achieved. Recently, chemists Mahmond Aldissi and Raimond Liepins of the National Laboratory of Los Alamos of the United States have set the way to solve this problem. A soluble form of this polymer has been developed which can adopt the desired aspect if moulded. They use the arsenic catalyst/solvent system (III) fluoride and arsenic (V) fluoride. The resulting polymer presents a greater conductivity and stability than the conventional one.
