Neptune

1989/09/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria

The American automatic probe Voyager 2 has arrived in Neptune and has obtained the first data. It will take years to analyze the extensive information obtained, although there are some data of interest.

The blue color of the planet is due to methane present in the atmosphere of hydrogen and helium. On the other hand, like Jupiter, Neptune has a big stain on the equatorial part. Scientists believe this can be terrible. The stain is dark blue.

On the other hand, it has been observed that the rings surrounding the planet are complete when the probe has been closer. Another great discovery has been the detection of four different satellites to Nereida and Triton.
