The team of Professor Robert DiPaola of New Brunswck of New Jersey has shown in the United States that infusion of eight plants is effective against leukemia and prostate and breast cancer. In fact, effectiveness against cancer is only one of the eight plants (licorice).

In vitro tests have been performed with tumor cells of prostate, breast or blood patients that have come out of the licorice of a plant substance called A likokalkona. The result has been clear: all tumor cells have been destroyed. Now they have started testing with animals.

The eight-plant blend drink is sold in the United States under the name PC-SPES as a complementary food. This initial PC means "prostatic cancer" and the hope of this later SPES. In addition to liquorice, plants with drinks are: chrysanthemum, a variety of palm trees, the pistolero, the tinctoria Isatis, Ganoderma lucidum, Panax pseudo-ginseng and Rabdosia rubescens.
