Chronicle of incipient feathers
2006/04/01 Roa Zubia, Guillermo - Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria
Authorities, scientists and media officials point out that efforts must be made to disseminate science. And who should? For any person who divulges it well, come from what is coming. Therefore, many will thank anyone capable of writing on a science-related topic who can write an article and perhaps a complete book. However, mere writing is useless if writing is not socialized.
Precisely, if the writing is in Basque, this work will take place in the CAF-Elhuyar awards organized jointly by the company CAF and the Elhuyar Foundation. On March 10, the awards presented in 2005 were presented at the headquarters of the Elhuyar Foundation in Usurbil.
Event
The awards ceremony was attended by the two organizing companies, the members of the jury (Koldo Nuñez, Kristina Alberdi, Julian Florez, Mikel Alvarez and Enrike Ortega) and numerous guests related to Basque culture.
The event was presented by Saroi Jauregi with the collaboration of several videos. In the videos, we present the awards of this edition through the images of the products of the Department of Scientific Communication of the Elhuyar Foundation: Web meetings, magazine Elhuyar Zientzia eta Teknika, television program Teknopolis and radio program Norteko Ferrokarrilla.
The prizes, the articles section and the scholarship for the writing of the book have been divided into two categories.

On the one hand, as we have awarded outreach articles every year. Within this section, three prizes of 1,000, 500 and 300 euros have been awarded. In addition, all the winners have received a sculpture by Imanol Andonegi.

The second prize went to Estibalitz Arbelaitz with the article "Zaharrak berri".

In addition to these three awards, a special prize for young people is awarded for the best article by writers under the age of twenty-five. The prize is endowed with 300 euros and a sculpture by Imanol Andonegi.
This year the special award for young people was for Igor Aristegui thanks to the article "Maite haugu, zorion".

In this edition the winner of the scholarship to write the book has been Begoña Arrate, and the title of the book has been Biziaren sarea ehuntzen.
Interviews
In the following pages you can read the four winning articles and interviews with all the winners. What better than the author himself to present a topic he has dealt with and opines on scientific disclosure?
And without forgetting, congratulations to all the winners!
