Groning University researchers have designed a vehicle of a nanometer length. It has four rotating structures (four molecular motors), like cars, and on a copper surface it can circulate randomly or almost straight. As an energy source, a scanning and transmission microscope has been used to excite and spin the wheel-function structures by emitting electrons from the tip of the microscope, which only has a few atoms.
