In Acuakultur it is the Japanese who score the research, but in some cases they are lagging behind.

Something like this has just happened because the Catalans have advanced. Proof of this is the floating structure of 7000 m 3 and 2000 t that you have in the images.

The image platform, called Mariana, will be used as a fish breeding factory. The platform will be towed from the shipyards of Barcelona and will be located a mile from the edge of the island of Formentera to house 400,000 fish. It is expected to capture 144 tons of sea bass and sea bream per year.

Built with new materials, it will power solar panels and withstand waves of several meters.

Aquaculture is not Mariana's only goal. It will also have the role of giant model, a model of the artificial island to be made in the Dutch city of Bergen. In the absence of a suitable plot, this city of 200,000 inhabitants has serious expansion problems and aims to solve the headaches through a platform connected to the ground with a small bridge of 50 m. This platform, called Hanse Stadten, would have seven fourteen-storey pyramidal buildings that would provide adequate services for 5,000 people.

Mariana's benefit will condition the future of this great project.
