The analysis of the photographs obtained by the Voyager 2 probe during its passage through the Jupiter area in July 1979 has allowed to find an unknown ring of Jupite. M.R. Cornell Showalter and J.N. Curri and J.B. NASA Pollack astronomers have made this discovery.

This ring is around the brilliant ring called Gossamer. The new ring is 10 times slower than the Gossamer and hardly visible with the most powerful telescopes on Earth.
