Promote revascularization against isquemias

The activation of the HIF protein and the promotion of revascularization has allowed a group of researchers from the CIC bioGUNE and the Centre for Cardiovascular Research in Paris to treat the organs affected by ischemia. Ischemias are produced by obstructions in the blood vessels and can become necrotic due to lack of blood supply.
Edurne Berra, of CIC bioGUNE, said they decided to oversize HIF production as an interesting therapeutic alternative. In his research, an ischemia was triggered, together with the femoral artery. It was found that with the accumulation of the HIF protein the mouse leg was revascularized and not introduced in the degenerative process.
