First images of Mars Odyssey

NASA astronomers begin to receive data sent by the Mars Odyssey spacecraft. This data has been cupped, as the thermal emission based image system provides accurate data on the surface geology of the planet. In addition, the images collected in the spectacular light complete those collected in previous missions by Viking Orbiter and Mars Global Surveyor.

The greatest curiosity is focused on the possible water of Mars. For the moment, gamma ray spectrophotometer has allowed to know the abundance of hydrogen on Mars. Therefore, several astronomers have concluded that there is water. However, further studies will be needed to demonstrate that this hypothesis is correct. Fortunately, Mars will remain in place in the coming years and centuries. It seems, therefore, that there is enough time to conduct research.
