In East Germany, northeast of Dresden, is the largest thermal power plant in the world that operates on a coal basis. Each year it has emitted 267,000 tons of sulfur dioxide, 21,000 tons of dust and 25,000 tons of nitrogen oxides.

Now it is about maintaining two sections of this plant, each of them 500 megawatts, to which a desulfurization plant is being carried out. A cost of 1,400 million frames is estimated.
