The CNRS team of archaeologists has discovered two thousand tombs 80 km from Mareb, on the shores of the Yemen desert. The gigantic 8-kilometer-long necropolis of Jidram dates back to the third millennium BC, when the nomadic shepherds of Yemen lived. Seeing that these tribes grouped the dead into necropolis has been a surprise to researchers.
