Aircraft and greenhouse effect

1999/10/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria

Planes produce long white clouds. The clouds generated by the combustion of the engines and their interaction with the atmosphere are formed by crystalline waters. They also contribute to the greenhouse effect and increase by 1992 0.02 watts/m2 (1% of the man-made). In areas of the United States and Europe where air traffic is more intense, its contribution reached 0.7 watts/m2, 35 times higher than the world average. This causes a temperature increase between 0.01 and 0.1°C.

Well, they consider that by 2050 this phenomenon will become an important climate variable, as it will considerably increase air traffic.
