Abandonment of the nest

1995/11/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria

About 25% of young storks will leave the nest made up of their parents and try to be accepted into the nest of another adult. As we have seen recently, when there are many members in the breeding season, young storks do not usually have any kind of consideration with their family, since they expect to be able to ensure their maintenance, leave the nest and go to some minor nest. Things well, they will have no problems to be accepted in this second nest if it has not arrived before the other stork that has escaped from the nest. In fact, no second "butts" are allowed in storks. Nature has managed to put the border between welcoming attitudes and excesses.
