When did you start working with the Marquis of Folin?

In this I started a long time ago, because of my professional activity, I have spent a lot of time studying the snails — I would say the fauna in general — and the serenos. We must also investigate what has been done before us and in his peskis I found the Marquis of Folin. It seemed to me a very interesting character, not only because of the work carried out around the snails, since at that time I was especially surprised by its link with Euskal Herria.

At first, as I had information and deepened the trajectory of the Marquis of Folin, I saw that I had enough material to produce an article or a series of articles, but as I continued to work, I clearly saw that this original intention could become a book. And that is the story of this book.

At what level were the contributions of the Marquis of Folin?

Undoubtedly, this work on snails was very important. The work he did almost without resources was enough to complete the studies carried out so far. He managed to detect and classify new species of rodents, many of which we know today by name. We should also highlight his connection with Euskal Herria, a very dynamic person who around him constituted a kind of elite.

He was a great friend and collaborator and energizer of many of the most important Basques of the time. On the other hand, at this time he also delved into many of the issues among scientists.
