Expo'92 becomes a scientific centre

At the end of EXPO'92 in October, the 200 hectares that occupy the pavilions will be destined to the assembly of the scientific park. This project is part of the European Economic Association's programme to promote research and development in Southern Europe.

A grant of 670,000 ECU has been granted. Part of this grant will go to scientists from the technological parks of Montpellier, Bari and Malaga. If it is possible to open the scientific park for the spring of next year.

D. Juan Carlos Moreno, from the "Sociedad Cartuja 93", says that twenty companies interested in the scientific park have appeared. They are currently awaiting government behavior, which expects financial incentives.

The price of the Earth will be 2,000 pesetas per square meter and year, cheap compared to that of the scientific parks of northern Europe.
