IBM has just announced the DOS 5.0 operating system. So far the functions offered by different utility programs, such as Commander Norton, PC Tools, Xtree, etc., file recovery, memory management, ASCII file editing, etc. integration has been the goal pursued with this new system.

Although the need for a new version of DOS is not so serious, it may be interesting that the functions previously performed by other programs were offered unified by the operating system itself.
