DITEXTO: text work program

1989/01/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria

With this OCR the texts pass directly to the DITEXT format and can be treated as if they were typed.

While previously considered one of the most advanced text treatments, this time it offers an excellent feature: an OCR (Optical Character Reader) that reads texts typed by scanner at a speed of 500 characters/minute. What does this mean? We already know them, or at least the listeners, the scanners, and we know that through them you can access the computer without typing the information. So what is the role and real advantage of this OCR?

Texts that are entered into the computer through the scanner are considered graphics and may present difficulties when making them. With this OCR the texts pass directly to the DITEXT format and can be treated as if they were typed.

You can know any type of letter, for which you must pass a learning phase like any optical reader. You will ask about the character being analyzed in the learning phase, saving it in a file when you have these characteristics clear.

At the moment it can be used with any scanner that generates Microtek, AUR, IBM, AGFA, HP, Cannon, AST and .TIFF files. It can be used later with others.

On the other hand, the price of the pack remains at 95.000 ptas. It can be considered a good price if we consider that OCRs of similar characteristics for PC cost more than 300,000 pesetas.
