In Madagascar a type of rudder has been found that was considered missing. Lemur is called dark ear lemure nano (Allocebus trichotis). It has been discovered by biologist Bernhard Meier of Rur University, in Bojum (Germany). He discovered two years ago a new lemure species called Hepalemur aureus.
In an expedition made in April last year he found the dwarf timure of hairy ear, but until last December the University has not communicated the discovery.
The dark ear lemure nano is one of the smallest primates. It measures 30 cm with tail and weighs only 80 g.
So far only five copies were known and kept in museums. Four of them met last century. Nothing was known about the life of the animal.
Meier found three specimens (two adults and one young) in the northeastern jungle of Madagascar.
The number of dark-eared dwarf lemurs in nature is not known. However, it is considered that there is not much.
