A large group of experts presents the White Paper to get out of the situation created by COVID-19

With the aim of solving the current situation, academics and professionals from different fields have collected a collective reflection and concrete proposals in a document called “White Book of covid-19”. Today it has been presented to the public with the aim of encouraging society to reflect and offer authorities tools to make decisions based on science.

As they explained in the introduction of the White Paper, the group considered it necessary to “analyze this complex situation from a collective and multidisciplinary perspective based on evidence.” This study focused first on four main areas: health, economics, social aspects and education. In any case, it is recognized that there is a risk of being carried out by study areas: “We must not forget the interdependence between people’s health and current social and economic policies or to propose.”

It has departed from the John Snow Memorandum and the goal is the Zero Covid strategy. The researcher and author of the book, Ugo Mayor Martínez, has clarified that this objective is still far away, so they have preferred to define the steps to follow in that direction and, above all, offer a realistic starting point for reflection and work: “This is a reflection and an open and willing proposal to collect and debate the contributions of all. This is a collective work in which the wider and more diverse the participation, the richer it will be and the stronger it will have before the institutions”.
