BTEK aims to foster technological and innovative culture among youth. Therefore, this avant-garde building, in addition to being a permanent exhibition, will organize temporary exhibitions and workshops for schoolchildren. The first year of opening the doors is expected to have about 3,000 visits.

The permanent exhibition will focus on the technology currently consolidated in three areas: Internet, home and transport. Finally, the transport area will work on topics such as aerodynamics, electronics, materials and mechanics.

The founders of this project are the Bizkaia Technology Park, the Elhuyar Foundation and the Ikastolas Confederation of Euskal Herria, which have recently joined the University of the Basque Country and the technological corporations Tecnalia and IK4. In addition, to carry out the project they have the support of the following entities: Departments of Education and Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Basque Government, Provincial Council of Bizkaia and Ministry of Education and Science of Spain.
