Tool that collects the heartbeat from a distance

2002/03/01 Elhuyar Zientzia Iturria: Elhuyar aldizkaria

Researchers at the British University of Sussex have invented a tool capable of receiving the electrical signal from the heartbeat without touching the patient. Current electrocardiographs receive the signal thanks to sensors attached to the skin of the chest. The distant one, however, does not need direct contact, so it allows to see the cardiac activity of inaccessible patients and also receives the signal without changes.

In addition, researchers want to build an offline device for electroerosion fallograms. This would allow, among other things, visualizing the brain activity of the fetus.
