Aircraft flights increase the greenhouse effect in two ways. On the one hand, the planes emit carbon dioxide and, on the other hand, the whitish remains that are generated in the back do not let escape the heat and therefore raise the temperature.

In the long run, researchers at Imperial College London have calculated that the damage caused by white marks is greater than that caused by carbon dioxide. And so that no white marks arise propose to fly closer to the ground: from 10.000 m of altitude to 7.000-9.500 m.
