The ozone therapy
This week Aitor de Bergara has asked us a question about a health problem that many citizens suffer from, which is back pain. Aitor explains that he has been suffering from back pain for years. She has recently undergone an MRI, which has revealed that she has two damaged vertebrae in the lower part of the spine. Ozone therapy has been recommended, but he has doubts about the treatment. He does not know if it can be good or harmful for the treatment of
the pathology he suffers. According to medical estimates, approximately 80% of the population will ever experience back pain. It is also common among athletes. We also saw the pilot Aimar Olaizola in pain recently hand-in-hand in a match of the doubles tournament. Bad habits, punches, violent movements, hard work... can cause back pain. In most cases, it does not require treatment. Sometimes, however, it also requires surgery. since the late 1990s, ozone therapy has been used as a substitute for operating room in some countries. The results of ozone therapy have been paired with the results obtained with surgery. The mixture of ozone and oxygen is introduced by infiltration into the affected site. This allows, among other things, an improvement in tissue oxygenation and a reduction in inflammation, if any. However, not all experts agree on the real effectiveness of ozone therapy and there are also few clinical trials. Aitor
has asked us to recommend some therapy. We can’t do that because that’s what specialists are for. We've explained what we've learned about ozone therapy. The therapy to be used must be agreed with the specialist. That’s what we can tell our audience from here. As always, we remind you that the address teknopolis@elhuyar.com is available to send you questions about health issues.
