Terraforming of Mars
To eventually become a place of incarnation, science fiction foretold a process of terraforming on Mars. That is, a process of obtaining the conditions that, using the technology available to us, would make it possible to live on Mars. The plan would start with the warming of the planet. The next steps would be the formation of an oxygen atmosphere, the acquisition of water, and the growth of plants.
This intention was initially considered as a consequence of the imagination of writers only, but it was also included in the calendar of scientists.
During the cold war, the Soviets launched the BIOS3 project to investigate the future terraforming of Mars. In 1968, an artificial ecosystem was created in Siberia.
Three men remained there for a year, engraved at all times. The pictures are from the hour. This was the first simulation of a long space flight.
in 1999, the experiment was repeated in Moscow to investigate the body's response to the state of closure.
In the United States, there have also been plans to artificially create ecosystems. in the 1980s, the Biosphere project was launched. They built a closed structure that encompassed jungles, the sea, coral reefs, the desert, etc. The aim was to study the colonization of space.
in 2006, the project was almost cancelled, but the University of Arizona purchased it to conduct research and attract tourists.
