The cannabis plant, from prohibition back to therapy

Cannabis or cannabis is known for its psychoactive effects. It has historically been used therapeutically and its value as an analgesic, against malaria, for the treatment of nausea and others is recorded in ancient pharmacopoeias. In the 20th century it was banned almost all over the world and, in recent times, the therapeutic interest in it has reawakened.
