Eucalyptus, a threat to the living creatures of the river

Researchers from the Department of Plant Biology and Ecology of the University of the Basque Country have been studying the impact of human activity on rivers for 30 years. Their conclusion is clear: the eucalyptus forest is significantly damaged by the stream. Less and poorer quality leaves the water. Toxic substances from eucalyptus leaves cause invertebrates to die or escape, and since they are in the middle of the trophic chain, fish can also be found less in the stream.
