Sodium is perhaps the future of conventional batteries

Together with Jon Ajuria Arrangi, researcher at CICenergiGUNE, we have led the line of research on sodium ion batteries. These batteries could replace lithium batteries in the future. Lithium substitution is very important because sodium extraction from the sea would alleviate the geopolitical problem of lithium sources. However, the commercial method of extracting sodium from the sea has not yet been refined, but there is hope in this regard. However, China currently uses sodium batteries on the street, in vehicles, and above all, they will be very suitable for storing electricity in large facilities.
