#15 EHU-In Action: Olatz Ortega Vidales
Olatz Ortega Vidales, when choosing university studies, opted for the degree in biology: "For me, biology is the science that explains life itself, that is, ecosystems and their interactions." And after that, he did a master's degree in ecotoxicology: "And that's where we learned the other side: how human-made pollution affects every other creature on our planet. On top of that, and turning around a bit, we also learned how to bioremediate, that is, how to deal with this pollution by dealing with nature," explains Ortega. Now "Watch out, don't crush me!" she is working on the citizen science project and considers it essential to work with an inclusive approach. It says clearly:“I think it is imperative that people who are different have a place in science.”
